Friday
A friend and her young son, Reid, were browsing
in a large bookstore.
Engrossed in making a selection, my friend had
lost sight of her child.
"Reid!" she called out, racing through the aisles.
"Reid!" Just as she spotted the boy, she bumped
into another customer.
"Pardon me, ma'am," he said, "but most folks come
here because they already like to read. No sense in
wasting your time trying to convince them."
I'm not saying our new UNC grad receptionist is dumb,
but this is how she filled out her insurance forms:
Date of Birth: January 12, 1978
Weight: 6 pounds, 10 ounces
Height: 20 inches
Two UNC students touring the
Sahara was dressed in bathing
suits. A Bedouin gazed at them
in amazement. "We're going
swimming," said the students.
"But the ocean is eight hundred
miles away," the Arab informed him.
"Eight hundred miles!" the
students exclaimed with a
huge smile. "Boy, what a beach!"
