The day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives. --2 Peter 3:10-11

While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table, and she didn't miss them until after they had been driving about twenty minutes.
By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up for one minute.
To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. And as the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her ........"While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and credit card.."

--Martin Luther -
Born: November 10, 1483 Died: February 18, 1546
Protestant reformer. Martin Luther was the first and greatest figure in the 16th-century Reformation. A composer of commentaries on Scripture, theology, and ecclesiastical abuses, a hymnologist, and a preacher, from his own time to the present he has been a symbol of Protestantism. In 1505, he made a decision that changed the course of his life radically: he decided to enter the Augustinian monastery in Erfurt. This decision shaped the rest of his life, and his search for a merciful God and His Will culminated in the development of the Reformation of the Church. Luther's negative personal experiences with the ecclesiastical means of grace resulted in not only increasing criticism of the deplorable state of affairs within the church but above all to a fundamental reconsideration of medieval theology.
The most important and influential event since Biblical times to the present occurred when Luther stood before the Pope (the most powerful man in the world at that time - when he spoke, kings trembled) and stated after being told to recant his teachings/views, "Here I stand - I can do no other." This event were more consequential and changed the course of history more than the invention of the printing press, the discovery/use of the A-Bomb, or either World War (as important as these events were)!!! - Howdy http://xrl.us/dyt2

A Thanksgiving Hymn
"Have you cut the wheat in the blowing fields, The barley, the oats and rye, The golden corn and the pearly rice? For the winter days are nigh." "We have reaped them all from shore to shore, And the grain is safe on the threshing floor."
"Have you gathered the berries from the vine And the fruits from the orchard trees, The dew and the scent from the roses and thyme In the hive of the honey-bees?" "The peach and the plum and the apple are ours, And the honey-comb from the scented flowers."
"The wealth of the snowy cotton-field And the gift of the sugar-cane, The savory herb and nourishing root - There has nothing been given in vain, We have gathered the harvest from shore to shore, And the measure is full and running o’er."
Then lift up the head with a song! And lift up the hands with a gift! To the ancient giver of all The spirit of gratitude lift! For the joy and promise of Spring, For the hay and clover sweet, The barley, the rye, and the oats, The rice and the corn and the wheat, The cotton and sugar and fruit, The flowers and the fine honeycomb, The country, so fair and so free, The blessing and the glory of home, "Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!" Joyfully, gratefully call, "To God, the preserver of men," The bountiful Father of all."

George Washington Carver looked to the Creator for wisdom. Overcoming huge obstacles, he changed the face of agriculture. http://xrl.us/dyt3
At a beach, sea kisses fine sand and the bare feet seal a story. The outcome (the footprints) looks grand. Thus nature creates the metaphors that are incredible rich with insights into the mystery of our inner world that shape everything we see. There is just one problem. We can either enjoy the art of prints we left, or move further by leaving the beauty of our marks on sand to other. The painter can either paint or involve himself in collecting what others say about his work. Such way we become either the stars or just the people in awe towards the magical heaven.
The author Edgar Rice Burroughs used to own a ranch near Hollywood in southern California, where he wrote his famous stories about Tarzan of the Apes. In 1928, the town surrounding his ranch was officially incorporated and chose for itself the name Burroughs had given his ranch: Tarzana.
Burroughs was a prolific author with a profoundly creative imagination. His first published story, originally titled "Dejah Thoris, Princess of Mars," was published as "Under The Moons of Mars" in 1912. His first Tarzan story appeared in October the same year.
In addition to 26 books about Tarzan and numerous science fiction stories set on Mars or Venus, Burroughs also wrote caveman stories, westerns, horror stories, and others that are harder to classify. The town of Tarzana is a fitting memorial to this man who so enriched American popular literature.
