A man and his girlfriend were out to dinner one night. The waiter tells them the night's special is almond chicken and fresh fish. "The chicken sounds good; I'll have that," the woman says. The waiter nods. "And the vegetable?" he asks. "Oh, he'll have the fish," she replies.

Only One Truth
On an ordinary Thursday, in a European country with a large Arab Muslim population, there is a battle going on for the hearts of the people. One of our workers shared his experiences on a recent Thursday morning:
Wars: Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine. We hear of wars every day and often forget about another war that is taking place. This war is easily forgotten because it does not show up in the news and we do not see it easily. But remember again Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." This is the struggle we are involved in and this is why we need prayer.
Let me take you to the market on a recent Thursday morning just outside my city which gives a glimpse of the battle taking place. I set up my boxes of New Testaments and videos. On the side it says, "Everything for free." Through the course of the morning, hundreds of people will walk past, heading to the market. A few stop from time to time, but the crowds, who are mostly Muslims, continue on. A few paces past my box, they are approaached by gypsy fortune tellers asking if they would like to see their future. Then, a few feet beyond them, there is another choice provided. Jehovah's Witnesses have set up a stand, and are offering their booklets, "...for free."
A Christian, a fortune teller, JW's. Is that it? No, there is more. A man, a little further on, sits by a large box for donations to build a mosque. Within 100 yards there are four opportunities to choose the spiritual path they want to follow. Only one is the Truth. There a war going on for the hearts of people. That is why I am in the market place and why I need prayer. It is because there are others who are not preaching the truth.
But each week, some Muslims stop and take a New Testament, a Jesus video, or a DVD. A few stay and talk. Some of the people I have met there have become long-lasting friends and through them I have met others who are also my friends. Three of these new friends are key young men in the Muslim community who have links across the city and in other parts of this country. Pray for more opportunities to share the Gospel with them and for some to believe, through whom many others will hear the Truth.
