Recently a man in Paris nearly got away with stealing several paintings from the Louvre. However, after planning the crime, getting in and out past security, he was captured only 2 blocks away when his Ford Econoline ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a daring and otherwise brilliant crime and then make such an obvious error...
... He replied: "I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."...

*What do cannibals make out of Democrat congressmen? Bologna sandwiches.
I looked like I had it all together when I attended Multnomah Biblical Seminary. I was well-educated and fluent in English. I had worked in a bank in Argentina, and spoken on the radio and in churches. I mingled with pastors, seminary professors, and other Christian leaders.
On the inside, however, I knew I was falling apart. Everything was a show. How could God possibly use me?
Then Major Ian Thomas, founder of the Torchbearers, spoke in chapel. "Any old bush will do," he said, "as long as God is in the bush."
It took Moses 40 years in the wilderness to realize that he was nothing, Major Thomas said. God was trying to tell Moses, "I don't need a pretty bush or an educated bush or an eloquent bush. Any old bush will do, as long as I am in the bush. If I am going to use you, I am going to use you. You won't do something for Me-- I'll do something through you."
I could do nothing for God. All my reading and studying and asking questions and modeling myself after others was worthless. Unless God was in the bush.
I ran back to my room in tears and fell to my knees next to my bunk. I prayed, "Lord, now I get it. I understand. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. The whole thing is 'not I, but Christ in me.'"

An out-of-towner entered the Ice Cream Palace in Chapel Hill and asked, "What kinds of ice cream do you have?"
"Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry," the UNC grad wheezed as she spoke, patted her chest and seemed unable to continue.
"Do you have laryngitis?" the out-of-towner asked sympathetically.
"Nope," she whispered, "just vanilla, chocolate and strawberry."
